Record the state before an interaction, the action taken and the visible result. That is more useful than a guessed puzzle solution.

Name the place in your own notes
Use landmarks that another player could recognize. Until a location is verified, keep a personal name clearly separate from an official map label.
Distinguish attempt from resolution
An interaction can be attempted without completing the mechanism. The objective tracker lets you retain unresolved entries and update their status when you observe completion.
Save the sequence
If multiple actions appear necessary, note their order and who performed them. At launch, repeat the sequence before publishing it as a solution; avoid carrying a demo-only behavior into a new build without checking.

Confirmed by official sources
Source checked- The official description includes mechanisms that players solve to obtain resources and items. ↗
- Gathering materials, defeating enemies and solving mechanisms can yield resources and items for stronger weapons and Magic. ↗
- Players seek and destroy sources of infection. A village well and a secret gathering are official examples, not fixed spawn coordinates. ↗
